Licenses are issued by most city and town clerks, all DFW offices and selected outlets. Applications may be made in person or by mail, or by agent of the applicant.
The Basic hunter safety course is mandatory for all first hunters, a listing of courses by date, time and location can be found at www.mass.gov/masswildlife under Education then Outdoor Skills and safety. For additional information, call the Hunter Education office at 978/772-0693.
Firearms safety courses are available at many Fish and Game clubs in Massachusetts, contact your local club for time and location of courses.
Your local archery shop should be able to give you basic instructions on how to shoot your new bow and may be able to provide a list of experienced archery instructors.
